Wendy's is offering Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers for 1 cent to celebrate National Hamburger Day
View Date:2025-01-19 19:24:40
With National Hamburger Day arriving Tuesday, Wendy’s has announced a week-long deal for customers to cash in on that includes the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger going for just a penny if they buy something else.
Wendy’s customers can get one of the burgers for one cent from May 28 to June 2, the company confirmed to USA TODAY.
"Take a bite of a Wendy’s hamburger made with fresh, never frozen beef to celebrate National Hamburger Day the right way," the company said in a statement.
How to get Wendy's 1-cent burger deal
To take advantage of the deal, customers have to buy something else and apply the digital offer through the Wendy’s app or at wendys.com.
Also new is the restaurant’s $3 English Muffin deal. If customers request the deal, they can get a bacon or sausage English muffin with egg and cheese and small seasoned potatoes.
Wendy’s checks Burger King, McDonald's on $5 meal deals
Wendy’s has been having lots of fun with an ongoing beef between them and other fast food joints.
Once the company got word that Burger King is launching a $5 value meal, Wendy’s took to X, formerly Twitter, to check them.
“Stop taking the concept of a Biggie Bag and making it worse,” Wendy’s tweeted Thursday night.
Seemingly in an effort to stand their ground, Wendy’s stressed in a statement to USA TODAY that the concept is nothing new.
“We know the other guys are trying to catch up with Wendy’s OG Biggie value, trying to copy the $5 Biggie Bag… but Wendy’s has offered fans a $5 meal deal, complete with a choice of one of three sandwiches, nuggets, fries and a drink, every day since 2019,” the company said in its statement.
Wendy’s is also wrapping up its “Make a Biggie Difference for National Foster Care Month” program, where customers can scan a QR code on their cold beverage cups to unlock a $5 donation from Wendy’s to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Doing so will allow customers to get a free Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper drink with their purchase.
